You guessed it! The number one reason we feel exhausted is lack of sleep. So this holiday, why not treat yourself to a post-party nap? The washing will 100% wait. Take advantage of the long, cold nights and turn in a bit early or stay in bed for those extra couple of minutes. This is an especially good time to catch some extra zzzzs.

A little bit of self-care can go a long way. Schedule a spa treatment, realign your spine at a yoga class or chiropractic office, or get outside for a hike, bike, or ski adventure. Read a book. Make a craft. Write in a journal. Talk with a friend. However you renew, set aside some you time, even if you have to put it on the calendar. Out of all our tips to stay engaged at work, this one definitely takes high priority!

Make the Most of Holiday Celebrations

Though it can feel like there are a hundred things going on at once as we roll toward the new year, try to stay present. If you’re at a gathering (whether in-person or virtual), relax, tune in, and catch up with people you haven’t seen in awhile. Put the to-do list on pause so you can fully enjoy.

Keep in mind that while the holidays are packed with fun traditions, they can also stir up a lot of emotion. If this is a particularly challenging time of year for you, remember to practice some self-compassion. Keep your plans simple and be transparent with those around you when you need space or extra support. By taking it one day at a time and keeping your schedule manageable, you can help ease the stress.
