The “Walldogs” are a group of painters/mural artists that gather from all over the globe to create amazing pieces of public art. This “pack” of painters will be descending upon Keene to paint murals across the city, paintings that depict local places, local people, and local products that have historic significance to the Elm City. Dubbed the Magical History Tour, the event has been in planning for many years and involves hundreds of artists and local volunteers.

Starting June 20th and lasting three days, the Walldogs will be creating 15 amazing, colorful murals on brick walls of local buildings. Keene is set to be the host of the 29th annual Walldog Festival; a tradition started in Iowa back in 1993. Local businesses and individuals are involved in supporting the event to create a greater sense of community and provide visual interest to the downtown area – as well as preserving local history.

The murals are wholly original and will take on the form of old-timey advertising signage.
