Masiello Employment Services have our roots here New Hampshire, with fall being our most glorious of seasons. It is the perfect time for visiting farm stands, leaf–peeping and just being outdoors in the open air. And with Autumn quickly creeping up on us comes a phenomenon so powerful, so important – it has created a great New England divide.
Pumpkin Spice Season, also lovingly known as PSL (or Pumpkin Spice Latte season), is the inclusion of pumpkin spice in everything from beer to whoopie pies – whether it belongs or not.
Pumpkin spice—that oh-so-cozy and warming blend of cinnamon, ginger, clove, all-spice, and nutmeg—was first sold as a blended spice in the 50s and reached rock-star status in 2003 when Starbucks first released the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which proved to be an incredibly popular fall beverage. Now, of course, the world has piggybacked on Starbuck’s success, and PSL is an annual and highly anticipated introduction to a myriad of fall products. Starbucks has even capitalized on its own success and is releasing a brand new pumpkin coffee for 2019.
Some people love it, and others have come to hate it – but as New Englanders pumpkin season should be a time to celebrate. So, no matter what side of the fence you are on, we encourage you to at least try some of these pumpkin–themed products – just to get into the swing of PSL nation.

And just for fun, here’s a cute little article from New Hampshire Public Radio on things that should never be PSL’ed (we totally disagree about pumpkin sriracha – it’s delicious!)
