Headquartered in Keene, New Hampshire, the Masiello Employment Services office does indeed consider the City the center of our universe, after all, it is the economic hub of the Monadnock region, the most populous city, and anchors the college which brings fresh talent and new ideas to our typically rural landscape. However, if you live in one of the vast outlying areas, perhaps even in Vermont or Western Massachusetts, you may grow tired of hearing the Keene city name:
However, you may recall if you are a follower of our blog, that we have a significant geographic reach outside the Keene city limits, and are actively involved in the outlying communities in the region we love and call home. In fact, some of our best clients are outside the ‘big city.’ As a refresher, here’s a map of Masiello Employment’s overall geographic reach, click directly on the map for a larger, interactive version.
The City itself has a lot to offer, such as the upcoming Keene Art Walk, when downtown becomes a virtual walking gallery.
Local merchants open their doors to showcase art and artists of all forms as they have for the past 23 years. The 2016 event is held on the first two weekends in June: Friday, June 3rd and Sunday, June 12th.
Yet there are also plenty of activities (and staffing needs) outside the City limits to consider. Take, for example, Brattleboro, Vermont’s Strolling of the Heifers, a day devoted to– you guessed it – farm and livestock fun. You can enjoy the July 4th Strolling of the Heifers Parade, or if you are a biker, you can take part in the Tour De Heifer, named the region’s most challenging dirt road cycling race – 15 miles in total – with an optional 60-mile course for hardcore adventurers. Don’t care to bike? There’s a 3-mile hiking option for kids and those who prefer to stay off two wheels. There is also a Human Foosball game, and the fascinating adventures of the Goat Olympics. In New Hampshire, we may have Granite, but Vermont has a lock on local farms and farm-related fun! All the info on the day’s activities can be found online here. It is a quirky and unique, ‘Vermont’ event in so many ways.
Finally, remembering our Massachusetts friends, be sure to check out the lineup of events at Kringle Candle including Kringle Cars and Coffee, a free, open-air car show in the heart of Bernardston, MA. Stop into the Kringle Café for a caffeinated pick me up after strolling through the numerous classic cars on display. This show is held regularly throughout the season. Kringle Candle always has great events planned so be sure to check out their online events calendar for the scoop on what’s upcoming.
This is just a taste of some of the fun to be had in the Monadnock region, inside Keene City Limits and into our greater tri-state coverage area. When the weekend fun is over, and it is time to get back to business, remember to call on us for employment service assistance, anywhere in the Monadnock Region and beyond!
