It’s almost Summertime in the Granite State, and the Monadnock Region comes to life with events and happenings!

Coming up in just a few days is the perfect event for history buffs and lovers of the past, and a chance to travel back in time to the eighteenth century.

On Saturday, June 15, the Historical Society of Cheshire County will be hosting a family-friendly history-themed event with live demonstrations of traditional crafts, music, dance, games, and performances by characters decked out in full 18th-century dress. It will be held at their historic house museum, the Wyman Tavern, located at 349 Main Street in Keene.

There will be blacksmithing, woodcarving, and reenactments of battles and daily life in the 18th century. Visitors can wander through the Wyman Tavern Museum during the event, while kids engage in an educational scavenger hunt. And will there be libations available? Of course. Grab a snifter of Wyman Tavern’s own Rhubarb Cooler, a (non-alcoholic) beverage to celebrate the season.

The festival runs from 10 am to 3 pm on June 15. Admission is $10 for adults, and free for kids under 18. For more information, click here.
