Local Monadnock

It’s the season of giving, and shopping local this year is the perfect way to get connected in the Monadnock Region! Sharing a locally produced, uniquely Monadnock gift is a special way to show someone how important they are to your life. It connects you to your local network, local business owners, and consumers. Plus, when you invest in your local economy, those retailers return 62.4% of their revenue back into the community. So, shopping locally just makes cents.

Did you know that, according to Seacoast Local and Monadnock Buy Local, “New Hampshire has 132,432 small businesses, which is 99% of all New Hampshire businesses? And, those businesses employ 51.5 percent of New Hampshire private-sector workers?” That is a lot of people you can connect with and support this holiday season!

We wanted to share with you some fabulous ways to celebrate the season of giving, embrace New Hampshire’s ingenuity and independence, and connect to successful local entrepreneurs.

Farm Fare Fun

Stonewall Farm Keene NH

Stonewall Farm hosts a huge upcoming event where tons of local producers get together in one convenient and gorgeous location. Their annual Farm Fare is the ideal opportunity to load up on holiday treats! This year they are celebrating on Friday and Saturday, Nov 19th 3-7pm and  the 20th 9-3pm.

Deck your table with locally raised meats, breads, stuffing mixes, desserts, rubs, herbs, and so many more delicious items. Find the perfect, one-of-a-kind gift from a multitude of craft booths brimming with handmade treasures.

Then, wander the trails or stop by the dairy barn for a memorable holiday outing. It’s quintessential New Hampshire where you can relax, taste the season, amble in the wetland, build a fairy house, and leave with more goodies than you can carry!

Plaid Friday

Plaid Friday

Plaid Friday is another perfect way to get your local on this year! All around the Monadnock Region, stores are teaming up to get in the holiday spirit going and help get your seasonal shopping started. Build your community network strong while celebrating the abundance of local entrepreneurs we have in the Monadnock Region. On November 26th, pick out your favorite comfy plaid and hit the stores for some super scores.

Local businesses offer the best of holiday standbys, like decorating a gingerbread house with unique Life Is Sweet, LLC treats. Or go for the distinctly adult gift of distilled whiskey from New England Sweetwater Farm and Distillery. For a complete list of hubs, start at the Local Crowd Monadnock

Cider Monday

Cider Monday

Then begin a new tradition this year with Cider Monday on November 29th! Toadstool Bookshops of Keene, Peterborough, and Nashua began this festive way to commit to local economic success. It’s an invitation for people to step away from the often overloaded and overdone online deals and get connected over a cup of cider.
