Just when you think you’ve seen and done it all, an event comes ‘round that introduces you to something entirely different; like a full day celebration devoted entirely to the pickle. Yes, that’s right. Cornichons. Gherkins. Dillies. Cukes. Whatever you call them, there’s a deep love for pickle culture right here in New Hampshire.

Yes, we’re talking about the 21st annual Winchester New Hampshire Picklefest, a yearly tradition in the Monadnock Region devoted to the proper celebration of all things pickles. Picklefest was started to celebrate the Polish heritage of Winchester, NH by resident Gary O’Neal some 20 years back and is still an annual tradition today.

The staff at Masiello Employment are always up to the task of being “pickled” with fun at Picklefest, which we see as an opportunity to engage with the community in a unique, offbeat setting. We just like to get out, network and have a good time. It’s a free, fun-filled, family-friendly day event offering plenty of pickle popcorn, a public pickle parade, and of course, plenty of pickles. Our sources tell us there will be free pickles too, along with live music on the town square by Version Six, Charlie Brady and Blackjack Crossing. Plus – all the heart-stopping but delicious fair foods you have come to crave like fried Oreos, hamburgers and (hopefully) fried dough. Be sure also to try some offbeat pickle-themed items like pickle fudge.

Moreover, for anyone who is deeply involved in the art of pickling, you can bring your most delicious family recipe of the sacred gherkin to be judged in the canning contest.

Join us in this 20-year-old tradition get pickled! We look forward to sharing some hometown New Hampshire spirit with all who may be attending. Let’s get pickled!
