Free Job Postings for Non Profit Organizations Continue in 2012

Free Job PostingsBeginning early in 2011, our team at Masiello Employment Services decided to offer free online job postings to non profit organizations that serve our community.  Throughout the year we had about a dozen organizations take advantage of this great offer.

In 2012 we are very happy to continue this service.  Our goal is two fold:

  1. People are looking for work and our mission is to match people with great jobs.  By offering free postings to non profit organizations, our belief is that more people will have access to the jobs that are available.
  2. Non profit organizations work hard to raise enough money to achieve their goals and often times the bulk of the funds are spent on salaries.  We don’t think that these organizations should have to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars simply to advertise their job openings.

How does this work, and how does the posting benefit an organization?

  • Simply send your job opening information, including a description of the job and of your organization, and how a person may apply to jobs@masemp.com.  You can also post your job on our Contact Us form here.
  • This is a benefit because jobs posted on Masiello Employment’s website are syndicated to over 10,000 job boards throughout New England and the U.S.  In 2011 we had over 80,000 job seekers view one or more jobs on our website.  This coverage for free is of tremendous benefit to companies looking for the best talent.  For more information on our job board, read this post.

Excerpted from an email sent earlier to the team at Masiello Employment:

Good Morning,

I wanted to let you all know of the great efforts that were made a few months ago to aid the community.   United Way put together a fund drive to benefit many area programs which give so much to those in need around the Monadnock area. Sherryl Bemis took the initiative and accepted one of the Loaned Employees from the drive and together they kicked off a great campaign here in the office. We were able to have a kick-off party and learn a bit about the participants such as those in need of mental health and housing services. Sherryl continued her efforts to host a raffle to all our employees over the 2 week drive to raise more money for the United Way.

Last night we attended the end of the season awards ceremony and accepted 2 awards! One, the Gold award is given to companies which achieved $100 or more per captia and the Trailblazer Award which is given to companies who achieve the highest per capita giving in the 1st year of the employee campaign.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the contributions of all who gave and the wonderful efforts of Sherryl to educate and motivate us all through the campaign!

As they say at the United Way …. “The Winner is…. All of Us” ! Great job!

Have a great day!

Why Don’t We Wait?

“Why don’t we wait.”  Those words my father, Ed Winter, uttered time and time again when his employees made requests or suggestions.  These words were much like the “We’ll see” that I got time and time again when I was growing up.  When I was younger, I didn’t understand them.  When I was working for my father, I didn’t understand them.  Now that he is not here and Jason and I are running things, I completely understand them.   I am, in fact, grateful for them.   “Why don’t we wait” may be the most valuable phrase that a business owner can say, or just think when contemplating a decision.  There is nothing like a little time to make sure that you have considered all sides of a decision.  What are the risks?  Rewards?  What is the goal?  What impact might this decision have on our clients, employees, ourselves? Masiello Employment Services, Inc. announced today that they have now been awarded Workers’ Compensation Risk Certification (WRC).

The WRC program recognizes staffing companies that practice best in class risk management to reduce workplace injuries and related costs. WRC certified companies maintain that a focus on safety and risk management protects their employees while offering a higher level of service to clients.WRC Certification

“Masiello Employment Services, Inc. is a family owned staffing business”, said Jason Chagnon, company President.  “Our staffing professionals are dedicated to providing opportunities in safe work environments.  Our primary objective is to fill positions for reputable companies and organizations whose employment practices are safe, healthy and fair.  We are confident that the WRC certification will only further our success in this regard.”

Masiello Employment is the only staffing company in New Hampshire that currently holds this designation.  They are 1 of 4 companies in Massachusetts with the certification.  Additionally, they are the only staffing company servicing the Brattleboro, VT area with the certification.

To be awarded certification, companies undergo a thorough review of their operational practices as they apply to hiring and screening, substance abuse, talent matching, employee orientation, client safety evaluations and partnerships, incident investigations and corrective measures, and return-to-work programs. The results are compared against a system of best practices developed by an advisory council of insurance carriers, insurance brokers, and staffing industry risk managers.

Remember the heart-pounding, soul-stirring message of the movie Gladiator? Remember how Maximus, the Russell Crowe character, rallied his men around him and led them to victory, even in the face of almost certain defeat? Remember his “envision the goal” technique for getting through the horrors of battle? Now, consider the leadership in your own company. Any gladiators in the ranks? Are you a gladiator?

The time is right for a more heroic style of leadership. Desperate times lend themselves to the rise of gladiators. Instead of seeing today’s economy as a negative, executives should view it as an opportunity in disguise – a chance to position your organization for the inevitable economic upswing. Here are eight virtues of Gladiator Leadership. READ MORE »
